Why OH Why, OH Lambert? Everton 2 vs Aston Villa 1

why lambertWhy Paul, Why?

Firstly let me say, it’s been along time since I felt so confident going into a Villa match. For me, short term Form in football is a good indicator for how I think a team are going do. If they winning games with good performances over a period of time, I’ll back that side. Consequently if the football team are on a loosing streak, be it through bad luck or bad performances then I’m likely tip a loss, even if it’s Aston Villa. There are are many other factors that I consider that give me what I think the likely result/outcome is going to be. I won’t go through them all with you, otherwise I’ll be hear all night.

So haven taken all my different factors into consideration, I really did feel we were gonna get a result at Goodison Park Saturday. My confidence was that high I was tweeting about it all night. I was telling people who weren’t as confident as me, that not only did I think we wasn’t going to loose but I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a win.

Well call me stupid, but I forgot one little factor, and thats Team Selection. I could argue with myself that this is the most important factor of them all, but what I do know is, it’s a very important one. We beat WBA midweek coming form two goals down to win 4-3. That must have been a great match to play in, “I know I enjoyed it as a spectator”. So to change a winning side going into the Everton match was totally beyond me, “WHY”? Baker and Holt were brought into the side over KEA and Lowton. I know KEA divides opinion amongst the Villa Fans but he was part of a winning side as was Lowton, and that counts for something in my books.

I wish Lambert, just for once would have kept the same side as the one he that played against The Baggies. When I knew what the starting line up was, I was really disappointed. And because of the changes to the side, that meant the formation had to be changed to. Well he might as well have made five changes to a winning side, because apart from the goal we scored, we done very little but defend at every opportunity. It was like a totally different side that played so well against Liverpool and WBA. I really thought we lost a golden opportunity to get a result on Saturday. And thats because Lambert changed a winning side. UTV
