The Fans Have Their Say On X (Twitter) About Villa’s Abysmal Loss To Tottenham

Villa’s abysmal loss to Tottenham was as disappointing as it gets, a performance that never really gave us a foothold in the game and left plenty to be desired from start to finish. From my point of view, it simply wasn’t good enough.

  1. Unai Emery has done fantastic things at Villa which will never be forgotten. All Villa fans have been wondering whether his priority was finishing in the top 5 or winning the Europa League…..Today we got the answer the man is a pot hunter and is out for himself. Today we needed 3 points to all but guarantee champions league for next season so anyone with the club at heart would have played his strongest team but Unai proved he is a self centred man who is only interested in improving his personal cv. He has history, he did the very same thing at Arsenal and, rightly, got the sack for it. He demonstrated today that he has not learnt his lesson. Seven changes made to ensure he can put out a full strength side on Thursday. McGinn & Onana not in the squad because of small injuries! I would bet my house that they both play 90 minutes on Thursday. There is now a very good chance that we finish this season in 6th place and achieve nothing. Even if we win the Europa League the owners should say thanks Unai but goodbye because, make no mistake if someone offers him a position where he believes he can improve his own cv, he will leave the Villa without so much as a second thought. Thanks for what you have done but we need a coach who puts the club, the players & the fans before himself.
