It is now official that Pep Guardiola is leaving Manchester City. Which of course means Aston Villa have to send him on his way with a big, fat, juicy defeat.
I do not think Emiliano Martinez will start tomorrow, so I expect Marco Bizot to come in for him. Other than that, I would play the same side that started against Freiburg on Wednesday night.
Will Unai Emery make wholesale changes? I hope not, although he probably will. Personally, I have always believed a club should always play its strongest side whenever possible.
As for Guardiola, he is a legend of the game. There is no doubt about that. He has always been gracious when Villa have beaten City, and he has spoken very highly of Aston Villa in the past, even describing us as a Champions League side.
My respect for him is immense, and I genuinely wish him well for the future.
But with all that said, I still really want Villa to win today. UTV
Seriously? The result of this match is of no consequence. Villa have won a European competition and well done for that. Meanwhile City have Pep and Pep 2 plus Bernardo and Stones leaving. Probably Ake and Trafford too and Marmoush and possibly Savinho. So it is an emotional day with the departures and naming of the Pep Guardiola Stand.
Ahahaha…….1-2 Villa
Close the door on the way out Pep, Villa are here now 😉
What do you mean you would play the same team with the exception of Martinez , are you serious or just having a laugh, perhaps you haven’t heard the majority of Villa players are off on Monday to meet up with their World Cup team mates and do ypu really think Emerie would risk injuries in a game that means nothing to Villa 4th or 5th it meaningless
