Can you imagine playing Tottenham after our first five games in the league this season? You would have bet your house on Villa winning that match. But right now, it feels like we’re back in that first five-game form again, where we couldn’t buy a win for love nor money at the start of the season.
Tottenham won their last game against Wolverhampton, but their season overall has been poor. Maybe that win, along with the fact they are in the relegation zone, gives them something to build on heading into Villa Park tomorrow. Hopefully, it doesn’t.
We have a lot to play for. With only four games left in the league, this is one we really need to win. The players have to step up and take the game to Spurs.
I would like to see Buendia dropped to the bench. He hasn’t played well lately. Against Forest in Europe on Thursday night, he looked flat-footed, and his anticipation just wasn’t there. He is better coming off the bench when we need something different.
But maybe I’m being a little harsh on him. Our build-up play from the back has been very slow recently. Against Forest, even late on when there was still time to push for an equaliser, the back four kept the ball, passing it between themselves for what felt like an eternity.
We need to express ourselves tomorrow. Play with purpose. Take chances. We don’t need to be so laboured. For heaven’s sake, Villa, we need to win. UTV
Completely agree this is a must win we desperately need 3 points we also need to drop Buendia he was woeful against Forest, on a personal note I would drop Watkins and start Abraham I believe Watkins is costing us big time misfiring again.
