Joe Bennett Should Start
Yes for me Joe Bennett should start for Villa on Sunday against Stoke City. For the most part of Bennett’s Villa career I think it would be fair to say he hasn’t pulled up many trees and maybe you could say he’s been a bit of liability at times. I think he must be aware of this as you could feel way The Villa faithful give out their negative vibe when he’s played in past matches.
But on Saturday evening against Chelsea he was put into the starting line up. Again before the match there were a few discontented voices raised about his start for The Villa. But these voices would soon die down as it was plain to see, quite early on, that Bennett was having, which would turn out to be his best performance in a Villa jersey.
And because of this I think he deserves another place in the starting line up. I’ve criticised Paul Lambert in the past when he’s dropped players to the bench after a good win. The carrot should be there as a reward to say, you’ve won the right to start in the next match because you played well in the last. For me, Joe Bennett played very well in the last game.
