Nathan Baker Centre Back
Nathan Baker is a Young Villa Lion from the Aston Villa academy. He stands 6ft 3″ tall and he is 22 years old. I would describe Nathan as a no nonsense all English defender.
Because of his age it makes him brave beyond his years, and because of that he can find himself in trouble sometimes, like with the odd goal post or defenders knee, which would keep him out the Villa first team through injury.
All that will change as he matures, but I believe he will keep competitive spirit, and the rash decision making will fade. And because of that I would put money on him becoming a top Villa and England International defender.
I like Nathan a lot. I’d have him in front of Ciaran Clark all the time. It’s not a slight on Ciaran, its just i think this kid has got it all.

I think he’s triumphed over adversity this past season and obviously nobody wants to mention his own goals against 2 clubs that were subsequently relegated (but I will). I’d have him and Vlaar in the middle, Lowton RB and get a new LB next season. I think he’s improved and will continue to do so.
