We Can Breath A Sigh Of Relief Now: Aston Villa 3-1 Hull City

bruce & lambertWe’re Safe…Again!

Now that our Premiership status is secure after beating Hull City today, we can relax going into our last two away matches against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Going to Villa Park today was a joy. The sun was shining, people were smiling and spirits were very high amongst the Villa faithful. You could feel that something special was going to happen today, well, that’s how it felt to me anyways.

Villa Park was rocking today and the Villa faithful were rewarded with a goal in the first minute of play, courtesy of Ashley Westwood. Hull City equalised on the 28th minute which seemed to put the brakes on the young Villa lions, but two goals scored by Weimann near the end of the first half, gave Aston Villa a two goal lead to take into the second half.

The second half had only a few half decent moments; we didn’t get that special footballing display that I felt we were going to be treated too. That didn’t matter though, the match and atmosphere made by the Villa faithful was very special and Villa Park was rocking today!

For me, Ron Vlaar, Weimann, Albrighton and Jordan Bowery were all very effective today. Andreas Weimann got the Man Of The Match award at Villa Park, but for me, I had Jordan Bowery just slightly ahead of him.

The last match of the season for the Villa is Tottenham Hotspur away, which I’ll be attending. How nice it’ll be to travel down to London not needing a result to secure our Premiership status, the stress of needing a result would have killed me. But before that, we’ve got a little trip up the M6 to the Etihad Stadium. We could throw a spanner in the title race between Manchester City and Liverpool, wouldn’t that be nice. UTV

  1. Apart from a nervy period when Hull equalised, Villa scored at opportune times to win the game and stem Hull’s ambition.

Great atmosphere as you say, overall I feel Villa are worthy of survival.

But we can’t keep on having seasons like this year after year. Villa must count for something in the top flight in future.

That needs fundamental investment in the squad or even a change of ownership.

  2. It was a very well deserved 3 points every single 1 of those players gave there all i couldn’t fault nothing at all pity we couldn’t play like that more often at home & the holte end looked absolutely superb which we don’t see that often of late it was ROCKING & i was 1 of them as for upsetting the big earners wedneday night it could happen but we can actually go there & play & enjoy with no pressure so could well be an upset on the cards but our record of late there isn’t very good but strange things do happen in life so thank you villa for ageing me by 10 yrs over the last 9 months im glad we’re still in the premier so can you please give me my 10 years back & finish top half next season with no stress. UP THE VILLA………………….
