The eleventh hour is upon us. The time has come. The moment of truth. The final is finally here, and isn’t it glorious to be in this position.
I’m going to keep this short.
In a few hours time in Istanbul, Aston Villa will play their biggest match since the heroes of May 1982, when our captain Dennis Mortimer lifted the European Cup and crowned Villa champions of Europe.
Now, John McGinn has the chance to emulate Mortimer and bring another European trophy home to Birmingham. The thought of him recreating those scenes from 1982 is almost too much to bear, because I want this win so badly.
However tonight turns out, we are all right behind you.
To the Villa fans over in Turkey, enjoy every moment, stay safe, and sing your claret and blue hearts out.
