Silly Rémi Chooses The Wrong Side

Apart from a couple of Villa players today maybe, it seemed that the majority of our players would have rather have been somewhere else. The performance lacked any skill, desire and organisation, apart from passing the ball from side to side and to the back, especially in the final third, I couldn’t see what we were trying to achieve.

Barring any injuries, I don’t know why Garde had to changed the side that hadn’t been beaten in their last five outings, it’s not as if we have a chance of staying in this league, right? We might as well have played our best side to keep that little momentum that we acquired going, but now we’re back to square one, no thanks to Remi.

Richards played in the centre of defence along side Ciaran Clark, and they looked absolutely terrible together, then in the second half, Garde moved him over to right back, where he looked just as bad. I don’t know what it is about Richards, but I somehow feel that we should be getting more from him.

For me, our best centre half partnership is Okore and Lescott. Both players could leave at the end of the season and that would be a disaster, as I believe they have a lot to offer, in fact I’d say that Lescott is our best defender, with Okore not far behind.

I think it’s important that we keep Okore and Clark at our club for next season, they could be vital for our campaign in getting out the Championship, Okore won’t easily be bossed by anyone, and Lescott, well, he has a brain and is full of experience, I’d make him captain too.

Gabby made an appearance in the second half and was warmly welcomed, as was Jack Grealish. Along with Charles N’Zogbia, who’s no longer apart of Garde’s plans, the stick they’ve been getting on social media lately has been quite appalling. But I didn’t expect anything less from the fans today, the Villa faithful might let off steam now and again, but the home and away are the true majority when showing their feelings and support to the players.

For me, no player is beyond scrutiny and constructive criticism, but just to constantly dig someone out on social media when the whole club is rotten, is wrong, especially young Grealish who’s at the start of his footballing journey. Anyways, I don’t think the way Garde has dealt with the Grealish situation has helped him very much.

So that’s it, we’re out the FA Cup! At least we can concentrate on the league now! 😉 UTV

  1. Lets get one thing right until Lerner sells and we get people in charge that can connect with us supporters so that we all feel part of this great club again we will sink further down in every way…..success passion desire leadership comes from the top over to you Mr Lerner …do the decent thing go

  2. You are talking as if he has 3 or 4 good players on the bench who didn’t play. Don’t the armchair pundits get it yet? He has tried every combination since he’s been here and whoever he picks we are shit.
