Please Villa Can We Have Some More!!!

v sAston Villa 6  Sunderland 1 Result

Yes thats right 6 goals to the Villa and what a night to savour, and boy did we savour it. It had been along time coming and unlike other performances early on in the season where we might of had a very good first half display only to be confused as to why in the second half there almost seemed to be a different inferior side on the pitch.

Well last night we had none of that. Aston Villa were right at it from the start, and even though Sunderland did look to be organised at first, Villa you felt coped very well with any offensive play that they offered. Then in the 25th minute Benteke and Gabby exchanged passes in the Sunderland penalty area with Gabby putting the ball just wide of the post when really he should have scored.

Never mind because six minutes later Ron Vlaar opened the scoring with a great 35 yard effort which smashed the back of the net, that sent the Villa faithful wild at Villa park. But the celebrations were short lived, when Danny Rose of Sunderland equalised only two minutes later, which had me thinking “Here We Go Again“. But to be fair to the Young Villa Lions that didn’t seemed to get them down and to me there only seemed to be one team that was going to score the next goal and we did in the 38th minute, which was for me was the best goal of the night. The move involved Matty Lowton and Andy Weimann. Lowton intercepted the ball deep in his own half, he carried the ball forty yards into the oppositions half where Weimann was calling for the ball on the left hand side of the penalty area, Lowton made a pin point pass and Weimann took the ball on the out side of his right foot and smashed the ball past Simon Mignolet. Villa Park Erupted but we deserved it.

 The Best Of The Rest

There was still a hat-trick to be scored, by the man of the match, One Christian Benteke and one for Gabriel Abbonlahor. Both Villa men were immense all night in fact the whole team played really well, Including Joe Bennett!!!

 My Man Of The Match

For me my MOTM was Matty Lowton. The guy has been putting the performances in all season, and this for me was his best display in a Aston Villa Kit. He had skill, vision, guile, strength, passion, desire and a will to win, and most or the Villa Faithful could see it.

Its hard to give special praise to one player, especially when all the team played so well. But well done Mr Lowton. And well done to the rest of the Young Villa lions, You Roared like Men last night.

  2. Di Canio said before the game:
“I wasn’t worried about Newcastle who are the worst enemy supporters for us, so you can imagine, I’m not worried about Villa Park,”
For me, it’s like going to the theatre or seeing Pavarotti when he was still alive. It’s an easy place to go.”

Maybe you should have been worried Mr Di Canio
