Lambert’s Lions Silence The Gunners!!

avfc vs arsenalThe Match And Goals

The day started with a shower, shave and a full English and a feeling that we were going get a result if not a win as I stated in my Pre Match Blog Post. So the match started with a bang from an Arsenal point of view (which didn’t dampen my belief of a result) when they took the lead with an Oliver Giroud goal. Chamberlain broke down the left and crossed the ball with the outside of his right boot to the French man who seemed to nonchalantly flick the ball pass Guzan. You could say they were gifted that goal as Ron Vlaar was found badly out of position then knocked off the ball rather easily by Thomas Rosicky.

Villa’s first goal came from penalty spot that was actually saved by the keeper but then headed in on the rebound by the wonderful Benteke which sent The Villa Faithful wild.

Villa’s second goal was another penalty which was dispatched with ease, by that man, Benteke.

It needs to be noted that both of the goals wouldn’t have been possible without the speedster Agbonlahor. His touch, pace and directness towards goal left the Arsenal players trying to tackle and chase him with no success.

The third goal was scored by Tony Moon which came from an Arsenal conner. With the ten man Arsenal trying to get an equaliser they found themselves exposed at the back, Weimann made a break on the Arsenal goal and delivered a delicious pass to Tony Moon which saw him with a one on one with the Arsenal goalie which he delightfully dispatched. Now that sent The Villa Faithful absolutely wild.

 The Man Of The Match

So who is my man of the match, Benteke, Gabby, Guzan with his brilliant saves that kept Delphus in the driving seat, No! My Man Of The Match was Fabian Delph, he was strong in the tackle, skilful on the ball, and quite simply kept everything ticking over with his work rate that never once faltered for the entire match. Delph almost done everything that was expected of a midfielder except for score a goal which he almost did with a rasping shot that cannoned of the post and across the goal line.

So I’m a Villan who is very very happy and looking forward to Wednesday nights match with Chelsea. But do you agree with my points of view if you do or don’t then please leave a reply below. Thank you. UTV

  1. It’s all about opinions and even though Delph had a good game for me I give the man of the match to Gabby. He frightened the arsenal players all day long. Ashley Westwood whent about his business quietly and confidently, we’ll done Ash.

  2. I give man of the match to gabby. It was his speed and great touches that won it for us!! Nice to see Benteke back in a competitive match for us to.
