Aston Villa Beaten By Sheffield United!!!

faAston Villa 1-2 Sheffield United

I got up this morning with no ticket for the match today but my enthusiasm for my club got the better of me and off I went to get a ticket for me and my son. And looking with hindsight, I wish I hadn’t.

Somethings Not Right

1- Has Paul Lambert been to Spec Savers lately? Is he’s the only person connected with Villa who thinks that Andreas Weimann is worthy or his place when everyone can see he’s badly out of form and he needs to be dropped or rested.

2- And whats with the “Hoof Football”. Every time there is a goal kick the goal keeper hoofs it up the field for the opposition to get the second ball. Let me tell you, the percentage of us winning the second ball is very very low and you just hand the possession back to opposition. Not good!

3- The midfield. Can they only play the ball side to flipping side, I guess that’s probably our weakest area on the pitch. And people some time ago were saying “Delph For England”, give me a break, the only reason he looks our best player in the middle is because rest of them are lightweight, to put it politely!

4- The performances that we get served up week after week are just “Crap”. So today against a League 1 side you thought we might muster up some sort of watchable football but no its was as crapy as ever. Which make me wonder about Paul Lambert and his coaching skills. He’s constantly changing the team. I can’t see what we’re trying to do. Its as if when they get on the field of play they are told to improvise. Very frustrating!

So you start asking yourself does Paul Lambert know what he’s doing. And by what I’ve seen this season I’d say he doesn’t. And what about the board, do they know what they’re doing!!! I think they’re really clueless, all of them!!! Look at Randy Lerner’s tenure at the Cleveland Browns!!! And what about Paul Faulkner, WHO!!! Maybe Randy needs better football people around him? Can we trust Lerner to make Big Decisions if things are going wrong?

So do I want Lambert out? Well I let Doug Ellis answer that one for you. Tell me what he said when see him. UTV

  1. Was it a shock to most Villa fans or did we think it may happen considering our recent record against lower league teams?

There may have been some excuse for the result if it had been confident teams at the top of League One like Brentford or Wolves – but we are talking about a Sheffield team that’s in a worse position in their league than we are in ours and had only one away game before yesterday.

I am getting really concerned about the direction this club is going in – it feels like the mid eighties where we went from Champions of Europe to relegation within 6 years.

If we don’t get relegated this season, it will probably be the next one unless something is done to change our fortunes

    • A great answer Shadeyade! For me these are worrying times and I think your prediction of relegation could come true if things don’t change.
