Inferior Sheffield Wednesday Ripping Off Aston Villa fans

money grabberFor the first time in a long time, Sheffield Wednesday will be my first away game of the season that I will not attend! The reason? It’s too dam expensive! For many years, many Villa fans and myself have been asked to pay too much money for an inferior product, trust me, Sheffield Wednesday is an inferior product!

My son’s season ticket remained the same price as last years, and my own was reduced by a staggering £10. But a soon as it was physically possible to purchase these season tickets, I did. But my loyalty to Aston Villa will only stretch so far, and I’m afraid I won’t be ripped off by any club who see’s us as some sort of a cash cow.

I can’t tell you how naffed off I am about missing this match, I really want to go, but as soon as I saw it would be £42, I was enraged! You know something, it’s come down to the principle of it now. If I have to pay more than £30 for an away ticket in the Championship, then I’m not going, that’s it! Of course by the time a match comes around that’s £30 or below, I probably won’t have the right criteria to purchase a ticket.

You know something, the Villa fans are absolutely amazing, the Sheffield tickets go on sale, and they’re sold in no time, at these prices, brilliant! Honestly we’ve got some of the best fans in the world, so if it were suggested to not buy any away ticket above £30 (as a protest to high away ticket prices), it would be impossible to achieve, too many people want to watch Villa at any price, and they know it. 1. Glen, it’s a joke but not a funny one. I’m going but only because I am in the away scheme and I don’t want to send the very first ticket back.

However, I would encourage all Villa fans attending the game to make their feelings known.

We must make sure we embarrass SWFC by protesting in a loud but totally legal way.

  2. Being as the superior Villa got relegated you will get your lorry loads of cash delivered as a parachute payment. The so called inferior clubs have to comply with the ridiculous FFP rules which means we can only spend what we earn hence the silly pricing. Your gripe should be with the cretins that thought up FFP.
After the embarrassing dross your mob served up last season I’d be careful about calling out Championship sides as offering an inferior product you may be stuck with it for some time.

  3. Did you let most visiting fans into The Villa at a reduced price seen as your product was so inferior to everything else they saw last season

  4. Just so you know, SWFC charged the same amount for the 1st home game last season, the was against Bristol City btw. Personally as a fan of SWFC I think the ticket prices are far too expensive, not only for this game but for football in general. I would love to see the Twenty’s Plenty campaign be successful but outside the premiership it will not happen as there is such a gap in income revenues.

  5. this is the exact same reason I’m not going.!! I go camping to shrewsbury on Saturday, and there’s no way I’m driving from there to Sheffield on top of a £42 ticket. I can spend that £42 in the pub watching it on sky.
