If You Think Things Can’t Get Worse Than Relegation, They Can

worseHow did things get so bad? You know why we are odds on to go down into the Championship. I don’t want to insult your intelligence, but just in case you don’t, you can thank uncle Randy Lerner and his side kick Tom Fox (Thick and Thicker, I call them behind their backs) and Randy’s past board members for where we are, 100%.

It doesn’t matter who is at the helm of Aston Villa, I will always support my football club, but I do believe that we chose the wrong manager to get us out of this terrible situation, another crazy decision from the board. But if you think things can’t get any worse than relegation, then think again, because they can!

Manchester City, Southampton and Leeds United had more than a terrible time when they dropped down from the top-tier of football; you know what I’m talking about? That’s right, I actually think we could go even further down to League 1, just like those three sides did, it’s possible, which is why we need to prepare so it doesn’t hopefully happen.

Do you believe in miracles? I don’t, which is why we need to plan to get out of the Championship next season. Can you realistically see this bunch of players actually getting us out of the Championship next season? Just think about it for at least ten seconds…it doesn’t look too good, does it? And how about the players who will want to leave us when we drop down, I think quite a few will want to go.

I really think we should be looking for good Championship players that will get us out of that league next season, not spending stupid money to try to keep us in this one, when we haven’t got a chance of staying up. Anyways, who would want to come to us of any note, players like that should have been bought at the start of the season, right?

Some of you out there will think I’m crazy and not a proper fan for already suggesting that we’re relegated before we’re mathematically are, but if I didn’t express how I feel through what I’ve seen under Lerner’s reign, then I’d be writing lies. I’m afraid our luck has finally ran out, and me finally coming to terms with this, will save me a lot of stress, I hope.

  1. Glenn you’re probably right, the problem is no Villa fan wants to hear it when there is still hope in our hearts for a miracle.
I don’t think anyone can disagree with your analysis but like all fans we need that little bit of hope we can survive.
Most of what you say resonates with all Villa fans but the question is can you really tell a mother her baby is ugly, she has love in her heart and prays for that ugly duckling to turn into a Swan.
Oh Hans Christian Anderson where are you now, we need our fairy tale to come true.
    UTV, VTD.

  2. We are in this plight because we can’t defend, no steel in midfield and unsettled attack. Richards at right back Clarke & Lescott (Okore) centre, bring back Cissokho. New goalkeeper Jan’, Sanches sweeping, Gardner midfield, Sinclair left wing to supply Gestede
