Aston Villa To Tackle One Of The Enemies Of Football Chelsea F.C.

chelseaLike Manchester City, Chelsea is what I describe as ‘The Enemies Of Football’. When Roman Abromavich brought his billions to Chelsea FC, the face of Football was to change forever. Manchester City and their billions from the Middle East have joined Chelsea in this reckless spending, which will keep pushing the price up for the mediocre player to a ridiculous level.

The Chelsea fans were over the moon when he started to splash the cash, but as he was paying an over inflated price to get top footballers, inadvertently he was pushing up the price for other players and their salaries for other clubs to buy. Thank you very much Liverpool but I don’t think we would have ever got a reported £20m fee for Stuart downing if the Russian and Arab billionaires had never brought their cash to this country.

Also, have a look at their players! Yes that’s right, they’re full of foreign mercenaries. There were two English men in Chelsea’s starting line-up last week and only one for Manchester City. Remember the chant years ago ‘Same old Cockneys always cheating’, we should change it to ‘Same old foreign mercenaries…’

I would hate to see a Villa side with no English men in it, but the way things are going it might be a possibility one day. I wonder how many English men will be in the Chelsea starting line-up today? Not many! This is what has happened to our game in England and it’s going to get worse! So you can thank the Enemies of Football for this. UTV

  1. Football has grown away from it’s working class roots, unfortunately, it is now big business and attracts investors. It’s a fact of life.
For years, man City were just cannon fodder for the big four and I am glad, as a city fan, that’s changed. You can’t blame me for that, mate.

Man City now are ‘enemies’ of football, not ‘enemy’s’.

    • It’s not the fans fault, I know that.Yes, Man City fans are some of the most loyal fans in the country, especially when you were in the lower leagues and fighting for promotion.

But this has bugged me for years and I can’t change my mind, I’d be just as brassed off if it was Villa in your place, trust me!

Slowly, the English game becoming extinct without the football clubs disappearing for ever. The English footballer is becoming an endangered species!

When do we say, enough is enough? When there’s 20, 10 or even 5% of footballers eligible to play for England in the Premiership?

I’m glad, that your glad about the changes. To me, it’s gone a little bit to far the other way.

  2. I understand the frustration but your anger is misplaced. Times have moved on. The real enemies are those in charge of the traditional elite who ensured all those in the top league places got richer and richer from TV and prize money and made sure no one else could complete. The only way to have a chance to break into the top four now is to have a sugar daddy to invest but the cartel introducing FFP or Financial FOUL Play are using illegal protectionism to prevent others enjoying what they have, No one wants to buy Aston Villa and why is that? Because there is no point. You would not under current rules be allowed to invest to get into the top four. If you try to build a team that won’t work as like Southampton all your best players will be picked off by those who entrench their positions with FFP. Man Utd at the moment are the ones that spend recklessly and not on English players! On that subject the aim of clubs is to be the best in their league and that means buying the best players and sadly these are not English as evidenced by winning nothing for nearly 50 years! When English players are bought due to the rules of five per squad the prices demanded are ridiculous e.g. £50M for Barkley, given top English players are scarce. The government can interfere with unnecessary all seater but will not legislate for fair ticket prices, a minimum number of English playing in each team, maximum wage and on transfer fees. Difficult to do but special legislation would be the only thing that makes things better and fairer, That wont happen so in your shoes I would campaign instead against the FFP, given Villa and Newcastle are its biggest victims, then one day you might be able to get a new owner and compete for trophies again. The English player issue cannot be resolved as the FA is too weak to stand up to the Premier League and in particular the established elite who are the biggest enemy of football.

  3. So Glenn what was your excuse before Roman ever got involved? What is it now 35 years almost since your last 1st Divsion win and almost 60 for the FA Cup? Fair play though you did win the Intertoto cup in 2001.

  4. I don’t know how old you are buddy but it don’t matter when they were won those trophies are in the cabinet full stop , like it or not villa are the 4th most successful club in the land , I don’t mind man united splashing the cash as their money was generated by the club by gate receipts sponsorships etc but all you and city are doing is pimping off a sugar daddy who one day won’t be there and you will be back to the average sized clubs you are so enjoy your short time in the limelight, Chelsea has lost its soul I went away to you two years ago and was shocked suits and ruperts jumps to mind far cry from the eighties when the ground was full of real fans
