Aston Villa Sleepwalking Into The Championship, Don’t You Mean Sprinting

holteI didn’t think we would win yesterday, I didn’t think we would even score a goal, and it turned out just like I thought. As soon as I read the Villa line-up, the midfield is where I thought we were going to lose it. Sanchez and Delph, ok, Westwood and Cleverley, I’m sorry but they’re just not the answer and we can expect to lose a lot more games if he continues to starts with this ponderous defensive line-up.

My contempt for our manager is getting out of hand now, why on earth does he continue to pick a midfield without any width!!! I would have started N’Zogbia over Cleverley on the right of his 4-3-3 line-up any day of the week; at least Charlie boy would have tried to attack the opposition defence. But also there on the bench was a young Spaniard called Carles Gil, and when he came on in the second half and gave a self-assured performance, it made you wonder why Lambert didn’t start the lad in the first place, but we are talking about Lambert.

The way things are going with the Teflon Scotsman in charge of us and going absolutely nowhere, you can forget about sleepwalking into the Championship, we’re actually sprinting into it. Lambert can’t help being hopelessly out of his depth, and any sane person would understand if he were to get the sack after his 3 unwanted record-breaking years in charge of the Villa. Unfortunately, Villa has an owner in Randolph Lerner, who’s just not willing to make any hard decisions for the well-being of AVFC, otherwise Lambert would have been long gone, so we’re stuffed and the horrific pain continues.

  1. My feelings exactly , but by July it will be all over
And what ever division Avfc find themselves in.
Lambert and lerner will be gone.

  2. I’m not a Lambert fan and why on earth is anyone after the last three years. However Lerner is the main problem. If we get a new manager we will still have Lerner who is driving our club into the ground. C’mon Doug you got this buffoon involved is there no plan B. When you think Lerner purchased Villa off Ellis for £65m then look at the £135m Gold and Sullivan paid for West Ham and look at them now. We are struggling to find £3m to purchase Sinclair and yet not so long ago Lerner was donating twice as much to a London art gallery. Sod off Randy and the sooner the better.

  3. bacuna would have given us width, so would richardson

i think lambert may have gotten the message about

    cleverly,,,

stupid formation with no hope of scoring

i pray that gil can play like that a few more times,,,

  4. Dougs legacy was Lerner and O’ Neill which we all bought into. What will Lerners Legacy be? A sale purely based on cutting his loses and any lapdog as a manger. Proud History No Future.

  5. Surely for the amount of money Lambert is being paid to manage Aston Villa, he should at least manage. I don’t know what an earth he thinks he’s doing, but it’s certainly not managing a football team.

  6. Sent this to my Mate today – Hes in HMP Elmley

Another week gone, another Aston Villa defeat, now not scored in over 9 hours of Premier League football,
So bad in fact they had to a cancel Decembers Goal of the month competition on the official AVFC Website as they had not scored a Goal LOL, looks like its going to be the same in January. I honestly believe this is the year they get relegated, and they are one of the few Premier League Teams to have been ever present since the 1992 / 93 Season and NOT been relegated.
