Ashley Young To Aston Villa?

Ashley YoungHow much would it take to get Ashley Young back to Aston Villa? A lot of money might be the answer. If we were to offer Young more than £40,000 a week then we might be offering him more than he is actually worth or more than the club can afford at this moment in time.

Football clubs in England need to get back to a more realistic wage structure. We’re not doing our footballers (especially the English ones) any favours by overpaying them. Some think they’re worth every penny they get, even though they’re not first choice at their clubs! ‘Take a wage cut, go to a different club and play some first team football’!

Ashley Cole has made the move to the Italian football club A.S. Roma. Roma offered him a reported £37,500 a week wage packet, which is a big reduction in money from his playing days at Chelsea. But Cole wants to play for a big club in the Champions League. I believe this is more of a lure to him than the money. It seems that on the continent, football clubs pay their stars a more realistic wage packet, apart from the obvious few clubs.

Is Ashley Young likely to slash his wages drastically? What is a realistic offer we could make him? Is he a better player than Ashley Cole? If Young were to come back to the Villa, I’d welcome him back, but not at any cost. UTV

  1. Roma have shown us the way to go with what they’re paying cole. i’d offer him 40 thousand with win and assist bonuses. If he don’t accept this offer, we don’t buy then.

  2. What- you must be joking. a diving git like him, you have short memories, he was prepared to cheat at his old club, he showed no respect. you just a bunch odf short sighted no brain jokers

  3. Young is not good enough for Manchester United. You can have him for a good price of maybe 8-10m and surely he will take a pay cut to return to Villa. I still don’t know why we bought him in 2011, never good enough to be at Manchester United.

    • Hark at you mate mid table man u fan giving it large your whole team was useless last season get back in ur box probably never even been to Manchester

  4. you would want money for a, player, with no heart – desire- or principles. you keep him and keep paying his wages. i certainly would not want to see him back. he pissed me off with his diving when he was here. then again some supporters do not care how there team wins.

    • I hear what you’re saying Dave! I was disgusted when he took a dive against us too. It pissed me off because UTD had already won the match. But if he was to come back, I’d have to give him a chance because he would be a Villan!

For me there are far worse ex Villa players and retired ones out there who have disrespected our wonderful club; I look and hear when they comment about our club and they turn my stomach, but, if they were to play for our club I’d have to accepted it.

But I respect your strong opinion Dave, I just hope you can at least respect mine. UTV

      • Yeah I remember when he dived in between O’Shea and brown to con a penalty in 2010/ we didn’t complain when he dived every week for villa/ he belongs back here at us cheats

      • Glenn , back in June 2013 you wrote an article about Gareth Barry saying the bad way he left and you didn’t want him back at villa park.. Personally I would prefer to see Barry back at villa park than young at least Barry showed loyalty with the 13 years of good service he gave us and at the moment is a better player.. So let’s hope if Barry came back you would support him as he would a villain as you say.

        • I stand by the Barry article but like I said in this article; if any past Villan came back to our club I would have to accept it and I wouldn’t make a fuss about it.

But there’s no chance of Barry coming back Batfastard as he’s signed a three year deal with Everton and they’re welcome to him.

          Lastly, it’s Villan not Villain!!!

  5. You guys are welcome to him, lightweight and overpaid. A 29 year old payed 118k a week and he’s a fringe player, what a joke!

  6. Would have young back anyday! He might dive, he might of do e it against us, but he was at villa park he gave it all for us and played his best football here! Would he take a pay cut?? I don’t know football is a business now which includes over paying many footballers, only footballers with a passion for the game itself will take a wage cut! Is he one of those I don’t know!

  7. Yeah let’s bring back the villa cheat the villa diver, we made him the hceat he is today so its only fitting we give him the chance to end his diving career at villa park the park of divers and cheaters.

Villa park/ the place people come to dive and cheat

    20m and he’s ours again/ yesss

  8. If you look at the goals thoughout the MON era, Ash provided most of the assists. Would love him back at Vp. Ash was brilliant for us and always gave 100%. All would be forgiven once we start winning more.
This is a key point. We would win more matches with Ashley young in the side.

  9. Ashley young back to villa he was allways a threat to the opposition scored some great goals but does he want to play for us has he got the lion heart to win i think he could make us a better team and supply our forwards with goal scoring chances its will be a sad day for villa taking trators old men boys and the bottom of the pot is looming drops of player standards is leading to a drop to championship football for me well i have supported villa for 45yrs this club is sinking fast but lads keep the faith we will be great again let the team know on the pitch that you still love the villa lets get behind them and hope things get better
