Here we are once again at the start of a brand-new season. Villa travel to Brighton for our opening match, and it won’t be an easy one. Brighton were no pushovers last season, and I hope we can give a good account of ourselves.
I took a quick look at Brighton’s transfer activity, and it appears very similar to our own. I don’t know whether their outgoing players were significant enough to concern their supporters in the same way ours have concerned us, but it looks like their new arrivals may need time to settle, just as ours do.
That could make for a very interesting match, with both sides trying to build new partnerships and find some early-season rhythm. We will have to wait and see what the performance and result look like after ninety minutes.
