Fulham Fans Still Screaming for a Penalty… Meanwhile Villa Take Three Points

Aston Villa’s season finally feels like it’s up and running after a superb 3–1 victory over Fulham at Villa Park. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, but when we found our stride, we looked every bit the side capable of climbing the table and leaving early frustrations behind.

Fulham struck the first blow when Raul Jimenez put them ahead early, a sharp finish that briefly stunned the Holte End. But Villa hit back in style. Ollie Watkins, finally leading from the front, produced a brilliant run and instinctive finish to level things up. The equaliser settled the nerves, and from then on it became an even, hard-fought contest with both sides battling for control.

The second half, though, belonged to Villa. Super John McGinn, driving forward with determination, capped his run with a superb finish to give us the lead. Just two minutes later, Emiliano Buendia struck to put the game beyond Fulham’s reach. Villa Park erupted, and from that point it always felt like our day.

Fulham, missing Jimenez after his early departure, lacked any real bite up front. They tried their best, but our clinical edge in the final third made all the difference, and it was about time. And as for the penalty appeals that had Marco Silva fuming — well, suck it up, Fulham. Nothing was going to spoil this result for the Villa faithful.

By full time, this was a performance to remind everyone what this squad is capable of. We climb out of the relegation zone, and hopefully this is the start of momentum building in the right direction. From here, fingers crossed, the only way is up. UTV
