Just to clear something up after a few comments last night. I wasn’t being negative about Villa’s chances against United. Far from it. Anyone who’s read this blog for more than five minutes knows I’m fully aware of how good we are right now.
I was having a bit of fun (like I’ve always done), leaning into the whole bogey team thing, because if you can’t laugh at football, even Aston Villa sometimes, you’re doing it wrong. A little dark humour never hurt anyone; it’s good for the soul.
So don’t worry, I’m not predicting doom, I’m not writing us off, and I’m definitely not secretly backing United. I’m just an old Villa fan who’s seen a few things over the years, and occasionally deals with it with humour.
So, lighten up a bit. If we win, I’ll celebrate like a lunatic. If we don’t, I’ll pretend I saw it coming all along. UTV
