Will Someone Wipe The Smile Off Benteke’s Face

Benteke LiverpoolOk, so Benteke has gone and I don’t feel to good about it, who would? I’m sorry, but he doesn’t go with my blessing or with a good luck pat on his back, and that’s because he’ll becoming back to Villa Park to score against us. Dwight Yorke in Red White & Black, Gareth Barry in Sky Blue & White and now Benteke in Red, oh someone pass me a bucket, I want to puke!!!

But the love in that’s been displayed on social media towards Benteke’s departure has driven me absolutely crazy! And with every goodwill tweet that I read, well, it has just made my resentfulness grow even more to him leaving. I don’t expect you to understand me, I just can’t help myself, I get very offended when someone wants to leave us; I wish I could change!

The only way Villa will be able to keep their best players is if someone wealthy like the people who own Manchester City and Chelsea come in for us, which isn’t going to happen. I do understand human nature; if you’re offered more money you’re going to walk, simple!

So the cycle continues and things won’t change. Our future stars will go the same way as our past ones. We’ll build them up as the saviours of our club, we’ll sing their names out loud and proud, we’ll even make them out to be super human, and then they’ll just bugger off when someone more attractive comes along. So get used to it, or more to the point, I should. UTV

  1. thats football pal,,, the sad thing is delph actually has feelings for the club
and to be honest deserves a chance at the top,,
if new owners had come in and pumped say 50 million in then the players may have stayed, but with that not happening the good players will take the opportunities they are given,,, and its hard to build a team if your best players get their heads turned
and delph gets all the anger when deep down he loves the club
the same cant be said of benteke or vlaar
its gutting but we need to move on,, get the new lads in and look forward to the new season
and you never know it could be a good one for a change

  2. It’s up to Lerner, Fox, and Sherwood to ensure that we speedily get over the Benteke departure

Serious cash needs to be spent to ensure that the good ship Aston Villa now strengthens and moves forward. We’ve been in decline for too long. We are crying out for an infusion of genuine quality, because the current squad looks destined for yet another season of struggle.

With the season starting in a little over two weeks time, we are currently extremely ill-prepared for the nine month slog that lays ahead of us.

    A worrying scenario.

  3. Hi Glen after reading your post whilst I agree with your feelings, and yeah we all feel it especially after losing Delph too, it kind of feels like everyone is deserting us, but I feel we will gel in our new players, there are some fresh new blood comming in. Bentenke was virtually unknown when he came to us! Its not just villa that loose the best players like it or not the top four are always gonna keep calling and stealing from other teams, all teams do it even us. One thing villa get the credit for is all the talent out there that we made I think we have had a good pay off from Bentenke personally I feel if they dont want to play for villa then best they leave, plenty of our players are proud to play for us and they are the best ones

  4. I don’t know why I keep reading this “We need someone rich to take over”. The days of spending frivolously are over due to the FFP. There is a limit to what we can spend.

The only way that the team are going to get the cash to pay higher wages to attract a better calibre of mercenary, who will in turn get us up the table so genuine better players come, is if we fill seats every week… No matter how we are doing, who is in charge or who is chairman..

There are no sugar daddies anymore. Welcome to football in 2015..

P.s author it’s smile off, not of

  5. It’s up to The Villa team to wipe that smile off his face when we play them next season.
I think I Micah Richards might have something to do with that when it happens

  6. I wouldnt mind him scoring some goals for them but I hope they dont qualify for the champs league. Tehn benteke would be looking for another move and there will be rumours he’s moving to so and so club every season that he’s there. Now that would be funny.

  7. Fed up with hearing about Benteke and Delph, they have gone that’s it, we have to move on, what concerns me is we are running out of time fast, we need proven goal scorers and the sooner the better. I still have faith in TS but I just hope he isn’t floundering around and pinning his hopes on Adeybayor, if we have to have him so be it but we will need another proven striker, why not Austin ?
Come on Villa just get on with it.

  8. I think the delph and benteke talks wont go away until we start the season and start well, then they will be forgotten
I dont know if its just the media talking about adebayor coming to villa. I’d rather have a 25/26 year old with a decent scoring record from any other league than him.

  9. this has been a problem with the club for a long time now, unfortunately the players ambitions are greater than the clubs ambitions. The club is a business to make money and will always try to cash in. If a rival company came and offered someone double the money they are on they would take it.
Delph should have kept his mouth shut and not lied about how much he loved the club and then left a week later.
Benteke was always going to leave, from the day he arrived there have always been the reports in the media that he was leaving, the club never actually prepared for his departure with players. They did put the buy out clause at a good price. Let’s hope Kozak can step up and score some goals.

  10. Good players have always left us, Steve Hodge, Mark Walters, Andy Gray, Rambo, Yorke, Barry, Milner et al. Become accustomed as it will never change.

The main thing to worry about is what we do with the money. In 1979/80 we invested the money in creating a team that won the league and European Cup. In 1987, we invested it in players who took us back to the top flight. In 1986…forget I mentioned Hodge, OK?

In 2015? I am gutted that Benteke has left. Seeing him in the red chicken kit will be like seeing your missus in bed with another bloke. (not a fan of cuckold btw) However, I don’t wish him ill. I don’t want his house to catch on fire; I don’t want him to get drunk one night and smash up a Greggs because he can’t get a 2 a.m. pastie. I don’t want him involved with a Malaysian gambling syndicate. He kept us up the last two seasons, didn’t spout a load of cobblers about loyalty either.

Delph? Fire. Pastie. Syndicate. But when he comes on as sub, please don’t boo. Just a “ssss” will suffice.

I believe that another 2 or 3 are incoming. Who they are and how well they do will shape our season.

  11. Austin would be perfect. He’s proved that he can find the back of the net in the lower leagues and has done it now in the PL. Good age and in a couple of seasons if he’s doing well the we can sell him for a good profit as well

  12. Wow! Things are looking up with all our new signings 😊 feeling much more positive Jordan Ayew looks fab having watched him play! He seems very pleased to be at villa I Think Tim Shewood rocks. Good work just need time to gel in the new players got everything crossed all the relegation fights are over for villa in the comming seasons! Go guys wonder who has the purse strings, its out of character for randy learner to be honest! Up the villa
