There’s Still A Glimmer Of Hope

GlimmerRelegation is on a lot of Villa fans minds at the moment, and trying to convince them that we still have time to turn things around, might seem a bit far-fetched, as plenty think we’re already down. But I refuse to dwell on yesterday’s defeat and some of the implications this loss could have on us as a football club, as I still believe there is time to save our season, but we have to get a move on!

I really thought we were good for a draw yesterday, and I believe that Newcastle came out as lucky winners, but what I wouldn’t give to be a lucky winner at the moment. With another Villa loss in the league, our bad run of football matches against an ordinary Newcastle side continues, and we’re all left wondering when and how we’ll get our next win against them, let alone in the league.

But Tim Sherwood really has his work cut out at the Villa, and he hasn’t got the time to reflect on this defeat, as the games are coming thick and fast. Tim has the unenviable task of trying to put a team together that will hopefully get a win against the Baggies on Tuesday evening, a match we must win! Might I suggest picking a team closely resembling the one that beat Leicester in the FA Cup?

If there was any positives we could take out of yesterdays football, it’s that the other sides in an around us fighting for Premiership survival all lost, and our performance was slightly better than usual. But we’ve got to start doing it for ourselves; relying on other teams keeping us in this league could catch up with us this season, and that would be devastating! But with 11 matches remaining, there is still a glimmer of hope. UTV
