The Roller Coaster Ride That Is Aston Villa

roller coasterThe football season is almost at an end, and it’s been an eventful one to say the least. Aston Villa have found themselves in some crazy situations over the years, and even though I’ve experienced relegation in the Eighty’s, my emotions have never been so up and down as they have this season, it’s been crazy.

A manager was sacked and a new one was brought in who definitely saved us from the drop, thank you Tim Sherwood. Player’s have also had a big turn around in their form under our new manager too. Tom Cleverley and (The Dark Knight) One Christian Benteke have shown the class that they’ve always had, but this has made them attractive to other clubs, so hopefully we can keep a hold of them.

We need to go out on a high against Burnley tomorrow. No matter what the result is on Sunday, we need to give a good account of ourselves to set us up for the big one a week later, and I believe that we will. Villa Park is going to be rocking tomorrow so I also thank Tim Sherwood for the fire and passion he’s put back into the stomachs of the Villa Fans too.

It’s going to be an emotional last trip to Villa Park tomorrow; it always is at the end of every season, but it could’ve been a worse one. Villa consumes your thoughts and they get into every fibre of your body, it’s a roller coaster ride! I know there are a lot of horrors in the world and it’s only football, but I can honestly say I’ve met some great Villa fans on my travels this season like the seasons before. If only the world was a bit more like the Villa faithful, then it would be a better place! UTV

  1. when you look at what we have been through this season it has been without doubt the biggest roller coaster ride i can ever remember
the season offered a lot of hope with some half decent players bought in
and some players returning from injury
and the introduction of roy keane made us all nervous ,,, but on the whole positive even optimistic
and the start proved why we were right to be happy with our lot
but it was the horrible fixture run which sapped the confidence from the team, and along with the reserved style of football and lack of goals
caused by the lack of forwards and poor approach play which started us on the terrible run of form, red cards , and suspensions which cost us so dear
and then lambert went to germany,,,,,,
and the results were catastrophic,,, he had managed to embark on a new football style which totally nullified any attacking threat to the point of the club becoming a laughing stock
i predicted he would be sacked if we lost to hull,,, and he was duly sent packing,,
we were in total disarray and certain for relegation or even worse
then the doors opened and a man was beamed down it seamed from heaven itself,,,,,
the results have been pretty fantastic, but more importantly the club
is back to being a great place to play football with positivity to be found on every level of the club
the club is truly back and with the right targeted investment should be good enough to finish 6 7 or 8th next season,,, if everyone stays that is
we just need the ownership to be sorted now and we can look forward to what should be a great season next year
