Rémi And Reilly Clinging On, But It’s All About The Board

the villa board 1Sorting out a big problem like Aston Villa won’t be achieved over night, it’s going to take a long time. The new board installed by Steve Hollis are working very hard to get the right men in their right positions whilst kicking the rubbish out, all this being done so that our club can move forward.

The doomed pair of Rémi Garde and Paddy Reilly are clinging on to their jobs with their finger nails. If reports are to be believed, Rémi, who doesn’t want to be here, won’t break his contract until we pay him pretty much what he wants, £2m being the favourite figure quoted in the news.

If it’s true that Rémi’s transfer targets were not actually contacted, it’s about the only thing the former board got right, would you invest in a manager who proved himself to be the wrong choice? If they would have employed the right manager after Sherwood, then maybe things would have been different, but then again, the former board would still be here robbing us for a living.

The one major positive that I believe that Aston Villa have, is the board. It just feels like a proper board, and like any decent board, we may not agree with all their decision-making, but someone has to make them, especially in troubled times like these. I just feel that these guys charged with running our club will do things with Villa’s best interests in mind.

  1. Couldn’t agree more, if Garde is so honourable and has a job at Lyons lined up why not just go? Too many failures have screwed their pound of flesh out of us over the years. Garde may be many things but he is obviously incapable of motivating or managing this squad. If I proved so incompetent I would be fired with no compensation. Why can’t we countersue? Sack him, sack the A*se of spies and let them take us to court. I think they’ve had enough of my kids pocket money.
