Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa Are Liverpool’s Bogey Team

avfc vs liv 1Aston Villa goes to Anfield today undefeated in the league and I don’t see why we still can’t be undefeated at the end of 90 minutes. Liverpool have strengthened their squad considerably with the money they got for Luis Suárez, who cheated us out of 3 points last season, but would you say they are a stronger outfit without Suárez?

Having lost already in the league, the last side they would have wanted to come to Anfield is an undefeated Aston Villa. Liverpool haven’t been able to beat us in the last 3 seasons at home, our record is, 1 win and 2 draws. Does Liverpool regard Aston Villa as their Bogey Side?

What I want to see from Villa today is a performance without fear. Delph should be on a high after his great performance for his country last week and with the new addition of Tom Cleverley and Sanchez (who is still finding his feet), the atmosphere around Villa should be one of real hunger for a place in the starting line up.

I sense real positivity all around Aston Villa, and for that, I’m going to have to give a big pat on the back to Paul Lambert. He’s actually changed the feel of the club and with the likes of Roy Keane (who Lambert brought into the club) demanding 100% from the troops; I think the good competitive feel can continue with a result for the Villa today.
