Neil Warnock Aston Villa Manager

neil warnockEverybody knows who I would have to manage Aston Villa; with or without his backroom staff, it’s Nigel Pearson. I think he could do a good job getting us out of the Championship, as he has recent experience in that league, which goes a long way, but I’m open to other candidates.

Today I got a call from a mad Aston Villa fan that would also welcome Nigel Pearson, but he threw another name into the picture, Neil Warnock. Not a very fashionable name for the Villa Snobs, I can hear them having kittens at the mere thought of him being Aston Villa manager, listen to them, ha ha ha!!! But could he do a job?

I haven’t gone through his stats of getting teams promoted, and my friend assures me that he’s done it through the leagues on many occasions. I do know that he got Sheffield United and QPR into the Premiership, even though they both got relegated in their respective following seasons.

But Warnock is a man who knows football, right? He speaks very well, doesn’t suffer fools gladly and he doesn’t strike me as a man who could be bullied by some punk ass football player, it’s his way or the highway. Also, have you seen him walking on water over at Rotherham latley?

We also agreed, that for decent wages and a nice bonus, that if Warnock was to get the Villa job, and because he’s not far of retirement (for the fifth time), he’d be the kind of bloke that would happily accept that he would have to give up his managerial post when promoted, just to keep the Villa Snobs happy.

When my mate was trying to sell the Warnock idea to me, you get wrapped up in the moment exploring that option, and you think with a smile on your face, maybe, just maybe. Still for me, my number one choice is Pearson followed by Moyes, and Warnock third, I think. But how does Warnock Aston Villa manager sound to you?

  1. Queens Park Rangers promotion to premiership 2010/11
Sheff United promotion to the premiership 2005/06
Plymouth promotion to division 2 1995/96
Huddersfield promotion to division 1 1994/95
Notts county promotion to division 2 1989/90
Notts county promotion to division 1 1990/91
Scarborough promotion to division 3 from conference 1986/87

On top of that he led Sheffield United while in the championship to the semi finals of the F.A cup and League cup in the same year 2002 only to lose to Arsenal and Liverpool respectively.

Also add what he has achieved so far with Rotherham I defy anybody to show me a better c.v for a manager out of the premiership.

    I REST MY CASE
