My Respect For Everton F.C. But Our Need IS Greater

villa evertonWith four games remaining to save our season, an in form Everton come to Villa Park tomorrow. Like Spurs a few weeks ago, no one gave us a chance of getting anything out of that game, but with Sherwood in charge, Villa are a completely different side, which enabled us to get the win against Spurs, and I don’t see why we can’t do the same thing tomorrow.

I would love to say something bad about the Everton fans and their Football Club, but I can’t! My respect for all things Everton is 100%. The banter between the Villa and Everton fans is always good inside and outside the stadium, and the fish & chip shop opposite Goodison Park, that’s it, the Chinese one, wow!!!

Villa was the team in the late 70’s and early 80’s, culminating in us winning a title and a European Cup. Everton were doing similar things in the 80’s too. They too won League titles and lifted the UEFA Cup, and if there hadn’t been a ban on English clubs, I believe they would have won the European Cup! These are just some of the reasons why going to Goodison Park is my favourite away fixture.

I know Villa hasn’t had the best of times against Everton for a while, but I know we can beat them tomorrow! I would really like to say, ‘let the best man win’, but our need is greater than Everton’s at the moment. Whichever way the result goes tomorrow, Everton will always have my respect, and hopefully, I’ll be eating fish & chips amongst the Evertonian faithful in the league next season. UTV

  1. Glen , thanks for the nice words! Can’t honestly say we have ever had any trouble with the villa, love going to villa park, and I don’t believe for one minute villa will go down! I hate us losing ANY game but I could just about handle losing tomorrow if it kept you up! Best of luck villa, see you NEXT season in the prem!

  2. yes i like everton too,,, but we need to gub them tomorrow

could go either way and will be a entertaining game

  3. Fond memories of visits to your place too. I once had a girlfriend who was a villa fan and I remember meeting her and going to the match together. Been many times since, and always able to have a pint before the games in a friendly atmosphere. We will stuff you tomorrow, but I hope you stay up.

  4. Nice one mate, I’m sure most of us blues would agree that Villa are a proper side with decent fans. So glad when you beat the RS the other week and hope you stuff Arsenal and stay up (which I’m more than confident that you will).
