Chelsea A Stamford Bridge Too Far!!!

chel v villI wasn’t expecting too much from today’s game but with players returning to fitness from the virus, I was a little hopeful we could at least get a goal and pose Chelsea one or two problems. Once we went a goal down Chelsea seemed to go into practice mode, a bit like Arsenal did last week in the second half, maybe it was because we weren’t really having a go.

The second half was better and we looked to get forward but the inevitable happened and Chelsea scored 2 more. N’Zogbia and Bent were bought on but probably too late and we had little chance of getting anything by then.

Personally I shall be glad when this hard run of games is over and we can get Benteke back because in games like today, we miss his presence up front and he can cause problems for top defenders. I just hope next week we come out of the blocks fast, look to attack and give the Man City game a real good go, and a result like last season wouldn’t go amiss to put some good feeling back into the team.

  1. Nice post Lucy , Fabian Delph stood out yet again he was the only one who carried a threat…just hope he will stay we really need to make it a priority for him to sign a new deal

    • Delph signing a new deal is so important to us, as is vlaar. If we have any chance of moving forward we need them to stay plus grealish

        • My only worry is the uncertainty surrounding the club with Lerner wanting to sell. I hope the offers are on the table and they’re decent enough that the players want to sign them! We have to break the bank to keep them all

  2. That’s the problem with the modern villa fan, we now except mediocrity and if you say your club should have done better than one shot on target then you get shot down as being unrealistic and deluded !!! Well I expect more from my villa !!!!!

    • I think your a tad unfair on the lads! Look at the different budgets of both clubs, there’s no comparison.

There isn’t going to be many teams going to Chelsea and getting anything out of the game apart from the clubs with big money.

We have to accept our current position as a football club. Our glory days are long behind us. VTID

  3. I’m not saying I expect us to go to Chelsea and win but give it a go or bring some attacking changes on when 1 down instead of 3 when they can still make a difference. If you don’t try to get forward or have shots then you are unlikely to get anything but at least have a go. Swansea gave it a go at Stamford Bridge
