Aston Villa’s Good Start Will See Us Alright Against Arsenal

Villa v Arsenal-The last place Arsenal will want to go to on Saturday is Villa Park, especially after the way they lost so miserably in the Champions League last week. Villa is second in the league and is full of confidence. In the past it would be true to say that teams who were on a bad run, would target Aston Villa for a win to kick-start their season, but it isn’t going to happen this time, my friendly Goonners!!!

The reason why it won’t happen is simple, Roy Keane! Do you think for one moment Keane will let complacency slip into the lads just because we’re on a good run? No. Keane, in Keane’s way, will keep the lads on their toes in training this week; he’ll stress to them, how important it is to keep this good momentum going.

It would be interesting to see how we would react if we conceded a goal first after our good start this season? Last year we went a goal down at the Emirates, but we fought back brilliantly to win it. We thought we were going to have a good season after that match, we were wrong. I suspect we could bounce back from a setback like that, but for different reasons, Roy Keane, enough said!

I Hope we don’t have to test that little theory; I’d like our defence to keep up the good work they’ve been doing this season and try not to concede any goals, which makes me wonder if Ron Vlaar will start tomorrow? If he doesn’t, Nathan Baker will fill in for him and I’m sure he’ll do a good job for the team.

My Prediction

You can get 15/4 for a Villa win on Bet 365, so I’ve just put £14 on them to win!!! So, Come On Villa!!! Let’s Do This!!! UTV

  1. We won’t be going into this game afraid of arsenal yeah they got a few decent players but so have we plus our confidence is pretty high at the moment with no games lost yet & 3 wins & 1 draw & 3 clean sheets so even with vlaar being out we have to rely on the services of beavis but if he plays as well as last week i can’t knock him i’m not predicting the score but I will say it’s got all the attributes of being a good game to watch come on you lions let’s roar & blow the gunners away

  2. Arsenal do have some quality players but so do we this season so i can’t see us being a push over by all means. Our confidence is pretty high at the moment & there’s a good feeling amongst the lads especially after our 1st 4 games having W3 D1 L0 with 3 clean sheets. The only downfall i got is beavis is in if vlaar not fit but he could always prove me wrong like he did last week against liverpool & play pretty well again. I can’t say my prediction for the game cause i don’t want to tempt fate so come on you lions let’s roar & let the gunners know we’re here.

  3. Gooner here, I come in peace, etc.

Really pleased with Villa’s start (nice win last weekend too). My eldest daughter’s boyfriend is a die-hard Villa fan and so they are becoming my second team. Senderos always underated IMHO too.

You’re right – a daunting task for two of the undefeated this season to meet this weekend. we underperformed BADLY vs Dortmund which is a real worry.

But that is our only defeat since April 1st (OK – I know the season is yet young). I get the feeling that despite our poor form midweek, we’ll be a real handful on Saturday as we have a point to prove. Boldly – I have predicted 1-2 to us in my predictor league (Sanchez; Ramsey – Agbonlahor).

However, you could tonk us 4-0 and I wouldn’t be altogether surprised. Depends which Arsenal turns up. May the best team win etc.

  4. Why do you write a blog, when you can’t actually write? Villa ARE second. Probably not for too long. By the way, Keene has a terrible record for alienating players, he won’t last to the end of the season.
