Aston Villa vs Hull City: It’s Darren Bent Up Front For Me

darren bent hullPotato Head, otherwise know as Steve Bruce is bringing his football team to Villa Park on Sunday. After our exit out of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday to Leyton Orient, it’s very important that we bounce back with a win but at all costs avoid a loss against Hull City.

Last year we beat Hull 3-1 and I don’t see why we can’t do it again. I believe that Vlaar and Cissokho are back in the Starting line up, so our defence will back at full strength, which is the strongest part of our game. Hopefully, Lambert and Keane have worked the lads hard in training in getting shots on target and trusting in themselves, when they try to attack.

Villa Park is crying out for goals, you can hear the disappointment all around when it looks as if we’re heading for a 0-0 or even worse, a loss without us scoring goal.

Darren Bent came in for some criticism when we played Leyton Orient on Tuesday, with comments like, ‘He wasn’t trying’ and ‘He looked uninterested’, which were really unfair on Benty; I think he was the exact opposite of those comments, though with games he might gain more sharpness, so Benty starts up front for me.

I’m not going to call this match but I don’t see why we can’t win. With Fabian Delph getting a call up to the England squad, I think it will make him play better than he’s ever done in a Claret and Blue jersey, hopefully he’ll score a goal too. UTV

  1. home game against a similar side,,, so we should loose

i agree with benty,,, play him for 60 mins ,, if no good sub him

he needs to play,,, and service

got the feeling of a 0 0 but i hope we can nic a win

  2. I’m not sure what game you were watching on Wednesday but the in the game i watched Bent looked fat, did zero running and missed his only chance when put through. It was a 4 out of 10 performance in the same vein as the 4-10 performances he put in for Fulham last season.

    • yes but what else have we got,,, there all off form,,, and i agree with you

but,,,,, with the strong side we will put out he should get some service

lets hope he can get back in the groove

gabby is not a forward and andreas is a supporting attacker at best

bent needs games to sharpen up and try and get that confidence back

    • Gotta agree with you if bent isn’t scoring he’s doing nothing else it’s like playing with 10 men I would rather play Gabbi up front until benteke is back, Gabbi has lead the line before and done ok , so pleased with the defence so far and when benteke returns if he can recapture his old form I dare to say it we could be a decent side:-)
